Notes - Kate narrative - He was farming the home farm. His wife's name was Mary and the girl who worked for her for years was called Hannah Fitz, I have forgotten the name of the man who worked for Uncle John. Aunt Mary used to like to hook mats to show at the fair and Uncle John drew the patterns for her. Several of the McQueen family could do nice drawings. Instead of the log house they built a fine large stone house. It is empty now as far as the original family is concerned. It is almost impossible to think of that home and Kirwall without a McQueen.
